Dr Theenesh Theyvan Balakrishnan is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon who completed the Ministry of Health (MOH) training programme in 2023 with postings at Hospital Kulim under Dato Dr Tharumarajah, Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Ipoh under the mentorship of Dr Mohamad Izani Ibrahim and Hospital Putrajaya under the mentorship of Dr Mohd Idham Hassan. He gained international training experience under Prof Mathieu Assal at Centre Assal, Geneva, and Prof Dr Anand Pillai at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester, along with attachments at several other centres abroad. His clinical interests include deformity correction, lower limb trauma, and sports-related foot and ankle injuries. Dr Theenesh has published multiple research papers and is dedicated to advancing surgical innovation and multidisciplinary collaboration in foot and ankle reconstruction through continuous learning and global engagement.
He currently serve in Hospital Raja Pertmaisuri Bainun, Ipoh, Perak as Consultant Foot and Ankle Surgeon.
Dr Theenesh is currently the Secretary of Malaysian Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society (MOFAS).
